We often get questions regarding equipment needed to play tackle football with DJFL and what equipment DJFL provides. Here is a basic list:
A helmet with chin strap, shoulder pads, 1 practice jersey, and 1 game jersey.Practice jerseys and game jerseys will be given out by the coaches during preseason practices.
Mouth Guard, Blue Game Day Pants (with built-in pads), a cup (athletic supporter), game socks, and cleats. You may also want to purchase Under Armour for cold days and a backup mouth guard. Items can be purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods or Darien Sport Shop.
PRESEASON PRACTICE EQUIPMENT: The first three days for your son in the preseason will be in shorts and helmets. While all players should attend all practices, no player can be on the field until they have picked up their equipment and have turned in all the documentation including medical forms. Players will sit on the sidelines until documentation is submitted and equipment is issued. Once three full days of conditioning practice has been completed by the player, then full pads can be worn. If your son cannot make the first preseason practices, he will start his three days when he arrives even though the other players may be in pads. Please have your player’s mouth guard for the preseason.
The Blue game day football pants (with built-in pads), can be found at the Darien Sport Shop, and are used for practices as well.

August 13 Equipment Pickup
The last equipment pickup date for those who have not yet picked up their equipment is:
Date: Monday, August 13 from 8-9pm
Location: Darien High School parking lot just to the left of the Stadium Entrance.
For players who registered late or failed to pick equipment up in either May or June, you will need to bring a late fee check in the amount of $200 written to DJFL in addition to stamped medical form and equipment deposit check in the amount of $400.
For those who cannot pick up on the 13th, you will need to deliver the stamped medical form and checks as soon as you return home to the following address: Cindy Rolapp, 7 Fox Hill Lane, Darien. Once Cindy has them, she will notify coaches and you will work out picking up equipment directly with the coaches.
